Mixed Metal Oxide

Mixed metal oxide (MMO) electrodes are devices with useful properties for chemical electrolysis. In Tianode the MMO (Mixed Metal Oxide) Coating has been designed for use in all cathodic protection applications.

MMO Coated Anodes are manufactured by coating a mixture of precious metal oxides on a specially treated precious metal. The coated substrate undergoes multiple thermal treatments at elevated temperatures to gain good bonding properties between the substrate & coating. This bonding property increases the lifetime of anodes. It consists of IrO2 / Ta2O5, suitable for use in soils, carbonaceous backfill, fresh and brackish water, seawater and concrete. Mixed metal oxide coating is generally accepted by the cathodic protection industry to be satisfactory for both chlorine and oxygen evolving electrolytes.  TiTaN’s MMO coated anodes are in high demand in the global market for its excellent electrolytic properties and low wear rate of the coating.

Tubular Anodes

Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) tubular anodes are titanium tubes with a mixed metal oxide coating. The mixed metal oxide is a crystalline, electrically-conductive coating that activates the titanium and enables it to function as an anode.

MMO Wire Anodes

MMO wire anodes are copper cored titanium wire with mixed metal oxide coating.

MMO Disk Anodes

The MMO Disk Anode was developed for cathodic protection of dam and navigation lock gates.

The Advantages of MMO Coating Anode are Long life, Small polarization, low consumption rate and lightweight and non-brittle. Applications include electrolytic cells for producing free chlorine from saltwater in swimming pools, and anodes for cathodic protection of buried or submerged structures.

We provide an excellent chemical corrosion resistance such as acid condition. Our standard outputs are,
